GadZooks — Character Design

This was one of my favourite projects to work on. The project was to create a character that could be used in a videogame. As I am a huge fan of mascot platformer games, I decided to create my own one. Meet Gadfrey the Aardvark and Zooks the Hoopsnake, ready for adventure in their game Gadzooks! The idea was that, while they are two characters, they would function as one. It was fun to think of interesting ways the two would work as a single unit.

Below shows the sketching process for creating Gad and Zooks, as well as some experiments done testing outfits, expressions and a potential sprint pose.
